Cinemalaya best picture “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank” grossed P2.7 million in 44 theaters nationwide when it opened Wednesday. Thursday, it made over P5 million, said coproducer Joji Alonso. It added six theaters on Friday, for a total of 50. Lead star Eugene Domingo plans to watch this weekend. Bayani San Diego Jr.
The Indie Film that won that not just one or two awards but five major awards in Cinemalaya's 7th Independent Film, made its grand debut last Wednesday Aug 3 2011. Having bagged all of the awards, people anticipated and waited for the movie that was finally released in major cinemas by STAR CINEMA and some even fought the storm and went to places where the movie was first shown just to be part of the first people to have a glimpse of the very comedic act and the versatility of its major star Eugene Domingo.
And a proof of it was the grossed revenue it had for the first two days of showing it and other cinema houses to request for it to be in their movie houses as well.
Well, Eugene deserves all the blessings she can get, for she really work hard for it. To all the cast and crew of the "Ang Babae sa Septic Tank" , congratulations and please make more sensible movies that will make us realize what life is.
